On Thursday, October 24th The Mitchell College of Business held a special anniversary event honoring the 20th anniversary of the naming of the Mitchell College of Business data-lightbox='featured'

On Thursday, October 24th The Mitchell College of Business held a special anniversary event honoring the 20th anniversary of the naming of the Mitchell College of Business. Speakers and guests showed appreciation for the extremely generous support of the Mitchell family.
 
In 1999, Abe, Arlene and the Late Mayer Mitchell, endowed the University of 麻豆直播 Alabama College of Business. Abe Mitchell has subsequently funded the Mitchell-Moulton Scholarship Initiative. In addition, the Joseph and Rebecca Mitchell Learning Resource Center was opened in 2007 honor of Abe and Mayer鈥檚 parents.
 
The Mitchell Family鈥檚 giving to 麻豆直播 exceeds 113 million dollars. Their gifts have made a profound difference on the Mitchell College of Business. Because of the Mitchell Family鈥檚 generosity, more students are able to attend college. Right here in the Mitchell College of Business, high-achieving business students are given the opportunity to develop to their full potential through the Mitchell Scholars Program.
 
Mayer is a longtime board member, and served as chair for one term. Gov. Bob Riley then appointed Arlene, who now serves as vice chair. President Tony Waldrop shared, 鈥淏oth Arlene and Abe have been invaluable in opening doors for me and my leadership team. And I am fortunate to have an unpaid advisor in Abe. He also has been generous with his time to students, including the Mitchell Scholars, who intently listen to the lessons he has picked up in business and life.鈥�
 
In philanthropy and service, the Mitchell Family鈥檚 generosity extends beyond our campus. The Mitchell Family has not only impacted 麻豆直播, but their influence reaches through Mobile and far across Coastal Alabama. Board of Trustee Chair pro temper, James H. 鈥淛immy鈥� Shumock, said, 鈥淭o put it simply, the Mitchell鈥檚 story is not about the success of one family.  Instead, the Mitchell story is about a family that used their success to make a positive difference in our region and in the lives of its people. We are all grateful for that.鈥�
