Building Bodies (and Brains) at the Bethel

The Honors College, in partnership with Campus Recreation, is reminding students of the intellectual, emotional and physical benefits of exercise by hosting sample exercise classes this semester at the Seaman鈥檚 Bethel.
This can be a particularly stressful time of year as students finish exams and get ready for the final stretch into finals, said Dr. Doug Marshall, sociology professor and Director for Honors Education.
鈥淚t seems like nearly every class has something due right before spring break,鈥 Marshall said. 鈥淎nd then, as soon as students get back, it鈥檚 non-stop through finals. That鈥檚 why the Honors College organized 鈥楤uilding Bodies (and Brains) at the Bethel鈥 鈥 to help students take care of themselves.鈥
The Bethel is a convenient location for community members to learn what Campus Recreation has to offer, and to get in a solid 30-minute workout under the guidance of a certified instructor. The classes are open to all students, faculty and staff. Equipment is provided.
Classes were held on Feb. 19 and March 11. Three more classes are planned for spring semester:
- March 28: 2:15-2:45 p.m. - Yoga
- April 8: 1:30-2 p.m. - BodySculpt
- April 18: 2:15-2:45 p.m. - (TBD)
