College of Medicine Commencement Ceremony
The Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine's Class of 2026 will be recognized at the Academic Hooding Ceremony held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., and the Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 8, 2026 (Time T.B.A.). Both events will be held in the USA Mitchell Center. The Class of 2026 is the 51st class to graduate from the Whiddon College of Medicine.
At the Academic Hooding Ceremony, graduates of the Basic Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) programs are recognized individually and have the opportunity to walk the stage. M.D. graduates will choose a family member to don their hood, while Basic Medical Science graduates are hooded by their major professor. The military commission ceremony of the M.D. graduates follows.
This year's ceremony will be streamed live and archived on the Mitchell Center .
The Commencement Ceremony celebrates graduates and confers their degrees from the Whiddon College of Medicine and other colleges at the university. Graduates present at the ceremony are announced and walk the stage. M.D. graduates receive their diploma at the ceremony.
